Meet Chela

I am a licensed somatic psychotherapist with over a decade of experience working with teens and adults.

My unique approach incorporates the healing power of nature, using physical movement to foster emotional movement, and shifting physical environments to transform emotional states.  I meet my clients where they are at, both physically and emotionally, taking into account how past traumas and cultural identity impact current states.

My work as a psychotherapist is influenced by my ten plus years as a bereavement counselor for hospice and my understanding of the many different ways we are impacted by grief. I have a creative, holistic approach to therapy that is trauma-informed and culturally competent.

I lead support groups, train mental health clinicians and educators and work with individuals in a variety of settings, prioritizing the unique experience of each person.

I am bilingual in Spanish, a certified yoga instructor, photographer, a mother, and a fierce advocate for social justice.

All photos in this website, unless otherwise noted, are taken by me. As both a photographer and therapist, I am a witness. I notice and pay attention to small details, and recognize the importance of perspective. I look for, and am able to see the strength and beauty of both my clients and what I chose to photograph.
